How we check

Each listing shows a business name, category, address and phone number. Hours and a website are shown when we have them. This page says what we do with those details.

Listings come from public data or from the business owner. Data sources and how entries are added explain both.

We tidy names, city spellings and phone formats so the same place reads the same way across the site. When one business turns up more than once, we keep a single listing. A business whose own website is dead, parked or redirected elsewhere is taken off the directory.

Each profile has a short description we write from the business's public details. A listing gets its page once that description is written.

Most hours shown here come from the business's public Google listing. A listing with no hours on file shows none.

We do not confirm details with each business ourselves. Details change, so call before you visit.

We do not rate or rank businesses ourselves. Lists are in order of business name. A Featured listing is paid visibility and carries a Featured marker.

A star rating shown here is the business's rating on Google, labelled Google Reviews. Review quotes are shown as written, in the order we received them. We do not pick quotes by their stars.

We do not check what a review says. Ratings and quotes can be out of date, and each profile gives the month its rating was read.
