How entries are added
Listings on this directory come from public data or from the business owner. Public data means details a business has already made public, such as its own website and its public business profiles, including Google.
We add listings from public data ourselves, and they are free. A business owner can also ask for a listing.
To ask, start at the add your business page. There is no form yet, so requests go by email through the contact page.
Every business can have a free listing. A business can also buy a Featured listing, which is paid.
Featured buys visibility only. It carries a plain Featured marker and can appear first on the home page. It is not a rating or an endorsement.
A listing gets its page once its description is written. Each profile has a short description we write from the business's public details.
A profile can show the business's star rating and review count from Google. Some profiles also show up to three review quotes. All of it is labelled Google Reviews.
Review quotes belong to the people who wrote them. We show the author name as Google shows it. A long quote is cut at the end of a sentence and marked as shortened.
Ratings and quotes can be out of date. Each profile gives the month its rating was read, and links to the business on Google.
This directory covers shopping and dining businesses in the United States and Canada. A business outside that scope is not added.
A business owner, or a person named in a listing, can ask us to correct or remove it. A reviewer can ask us to take their quote off this site. The corrections page has the steps.
