Craft cocktails are the main draw at The Conspiracy, a speakeasy-style bar in Uptown Charlotte. The bar says its menu pairs those drinks with small plates, a range of beers and a wine list picked with care. Its website names a seven caves sour, glazed turkey meatballs and bite flights, plus weekly specials and live music.
The backstory leans hard into the theme. The company describes an entrance dressed up as a plain storefront, made to look like a shop left empty for years, with the bar tucked below. It states the place is run by Northwood Ravin, an apartment company that had been running bars just for its residents before opening this one to everyone.
Before you head to The Conspiracy
Hours run from 4 PM to midnight on weekdays, and it's closed on weekends. It holds a 4.8 rating across 262 Google reviews. Reviewers keep coming back to the bartenders, who walk tables through the menu and will mix something off the list, along with the cozy feel, solid drinks and the flatbreads. The one sour note is service that slowed down when a ticketed event took over most of the room.
Charlotte averages 43.7 inches of precipitation and 3.5 inches of snow a year, per NOAA normals for 1991 to 2020. The city, in Mecklenburg County, had 964,784 residents in 2025, per the Census Bureau.
Doors open at 4 PM, so it's an easy pick for a drink straight after work, and a quieter weeknight gets you more time with the folks behind the bar.

Myself and a couple of friends went to Conspiracy for dinner after hearing good things. Unfortunately, most of the restaurant was closed for a ticketed event, and the service fell short. Our flatbread had clearly been sitting for some time, other orders were delayed, and the waiter—who was also bartending—was stretched too thin to keep up with 10–12 tables. He did his best, and we tipped over 15% because we felt for him, but management needs to provide enough staff to properly serve the number of guests.
