New comics, back issues and action figures are the core of the shelves at Mac's Heroes & Villains Comics & Collectibles. The shop says it also carries Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon cards, with fresh comic releases arriving each Wednesday.
Its website names weekly pull boxes for new comics, along with Figure Forge gatherings where collectors can paint, customize and kitbash figures. It also lists comic celebrations and other special-day events, so it is worth checking what is coming up before making a dedicated trip.
The store is open Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., then noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Reviewers often mention the broad comic and collectible selection, plus staff who help customers track down specific books or figure out what to browse. A few comments raise concerns about pricing on some figures.
Matthews receives 43.7 inches of annual precipitation and 3.5 inches of snow in the 1991-2020 NOAA normals. The Census Bureau puts the town's 2025 population at 32,769 in Mecklenburg County.
For the best shot at the newest issues, make Wednesday your stop, and leave time to browse the back issues and action figures.
