Before opening Rummy’s Beach Club, Lisa Goebel, the other owner, was a Physician Assistant for 20 years & worked with cancer and bone marrow transplant patients at cutting edge institutions like MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle and the University of Chicago in Chicago. Although she loved her job as a PA, she always wanted to be able to help animals. Rummy’s was created for her dogs – old, handicapped, dog aggressive, fearful, reactive, escape artists, neglected, abused and crazy toy driven. While Rummy, her blind Siberian Husky, was her primary inspiration, all of her rescue dogs helped teach her how to create a safe, fun, private place for dogs with issues. There aren’t many places you can go and have fun in a safe environment when you own a dog aggressive dog or a blind dog or an old unstable dog. Rummy’s Beach Club it is ALL about the dogs. You will see fewer issues here if you bring your dog with you. This becomes their second home and their confidence blossoms. It is so rewarding to be a part their growth.
